How do I clean burnt food from my all-clad stainless steel pan?

My husband and I have just some all-clad pots and pans. For some reason, whenever that is cooked in the PAN, we continue burning whatever we do, and there's this big black mark on the bottom of the pan. How can we get rid of this? Washing seems that no matter what we do is still there!

Get a friend Barman's. It is a scouring powder, which makes wonders in metal! It's cheap and you can get in a lot of grocery and discount stores. It is similar to dust cleaner, but does not scratch. Wet the pan, give a good generous sprinkling of the bartender and soak for at least 15 minutes, more will not hurt. Then take a sponge with a nylon scrubber those pills and give you a good scrub. If food is actually burned, it could take a couple flush with the bartender to get everything off. And little elbow grease. I would not use Brillo or SOS pads, scratch and leave marks on stainless steel. I have all stainless steel tableware and not use anything but the bartender there. And try to reject the heat once the pan is hot, so you're burning things. It takes a little time to heat steel, but once it is warm, it keeps the heat more than other pans. An oil spray cooking spray on the bottom makes them easier to clean too.
