What is the difference btwn porcelain enamel and stainless steel is best?
I'm looking to replace the "flavor bars" in the genesis of my Weber grill and offer two different types, qnd porcelqin enqmel stainless steel.
It might surprise you, but in reality are two steel. (I researched this when I had to buy cookware as a wedding gift.) The differences are that the steel enamel (also known as porcelain enamel), conducts heat better than stainless steel and has a semi-stick quality to it. Stainless steel can not conduct heat well, but it is easier to clean and last longer - enamel porcelain tends to chip in time. Hope this helps! I bet it's more expensive (?) But I would go with the stainless steel if you're thinking easy cleaning and frequent / long-term use.
