What are the pros and cons of glass cutting boards?

I think the TV chefs tend to use wood or acrylic, cutting boards, and not argue or use glass. my boyfriend's mother has a glass plate and I love to use, especially for cutting or preparation of meat, and I feel I can really get clean later. But I have one at home and I'm wondering if I should spend the money to buy one. What do you think?

I feel that my dull knives, and I hate all the noise they made as you chop. A plastic that can go in the dishwasher is really clean afterwards, too!
